Volkswagen and Lego have joined forces once again to deliver another nostalgia-fueled, brick-built model of the classic Volkswagen 1970 T2 Camper. The previous Lego and Volkswagen kits included the original 1962 VW T1 Camper Kit released in 2011, following it up in 2016 with the 1960’s era Volkswagen Beetle Kit released. Volkswagen has become an iconic brand with models that have created memories for families for years to come. The legendary 2024 ID. Buzz has Volkwagen fans all over the world waiting patiently for its arrival, set to be the first fully electric Microbus ever created. Let’s check out what Volkswane and Lego have in store for the all-new Volkswagen T2 Lego set.
The plastic model features a sliding side door and a plastic windshield that mimics the T2’s wraparound bay window design. The model is set to be as realistic as possible with interior features like a fully modeled kitchen with a tiny refrigerator, sink, and opening cabinets. The realistic touch even features a little teapot for the gas stove and fabric curtains. There’s a pop-up roof with a tent, rear bench seats that fold, and even the steering works. Some of the parts like the suspension and steering parts were borrowed from some of Lego’s more advanced kits. When assembled, the Lego T2 is 13.5 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, and 6.0 inches high, making it a perfect size for a desk or home-office ornament. The kit has more than 2000 pieces and will cost $179.99 and can be ordered from Lego.com.
The current 2024 Volkswagen ID. Buzz will finally make its way towards the United States market at the beginning of 2023. The “love bus” first debuted in 1950 and will now mark a prestigious 70th anniversary; both as an icon and a mode of transportation. Upon its debut, this vehicle changed the way the world looked at vans. The highly anticipated fully-electric microbus is the retro-style van of the next generation, offering customers the newest in innovative technology and top-of-the-line features. Volkswagen is committed to its electric lineup and the main goal of lowering carbon emissions and becoming CO2-neutral by 2050. Volkswagen is pushing a cleaner future on all fronts, creating a new solar park facility to power up the production of its Chattanooga plant.
