Volkswagen Teams Up With The Despicable Me Minions

Volkswagen’s global campaign will now feature the mischievous Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me 4. For instance, at the onset of the European tournament in Germany, the players of the German Football Association (DFB) will be joined by characters from the recently released movie in an effort to promote the new GOAL special-edition models. The partnership begins just in time for Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 theatrical releases in the US on July 3, 2024, and in Germany on July 11, 2024.
The Minions are known for their iconic welding goggles, just like the Volkswagen brand is known in many different markets. The men’s national football team of Germany collaborates with Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 to promote marketing campaigns for the new GOAL limited-edition models. For the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, Polo, Taigo, T-Cross, T-Roc, T-Roc Cabriolet, Golf, Golf Variant, Touran, and Tiguan offer an exclusive equipment package available.

With the new movie, there are additional activities as well: The Atlas promotion campaign is already in motion in North America. In Mexico and Latin America, the Teramont is the main attraction. VW Commercial Vehicles will also become a part of this international collaboration. Despicable Me 4, an action-packed film that features Illumination’s trademark subversive humor and nonstop action, is directed by Chris Renaud, an Oscar® contender who co-created the Minions (Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets), and produced by About Illumination’s Despicable Me 4.
Gru, the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League agent, makes a triumphant comeback in Illumination’s Despicable Me 4, the first Despicable Me film in seven years. Get ready for an exhilarating, daring new era of Minions mayhem. The biggest global animated franchise in history is starting a new chapter after Illumination’s Minions: The Rise of Gru, which became a global phenomenon in 2022 and earned almost $1 billion worldwide. Gru (Steven Carrell), Lucy (Kristen Wiig), and their girls, Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan), welcome a new member to the Gru family, Gru Jr., who is determined to torment his father.
The family is forced to flee as Gru encounters a new adversary in Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell, the winner of the Emmy), and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara, the nominee). Voiced by Joey King (Bullet Train), Emmy winner Stephen Colbert (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), and Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live), the picture introduces a cast of new characters. Steve Coogan, an Oscar® nominee, reprises his role as Silas Ramsbottom, while Pierre Coffin reprises his iconic Minions voice.
Illumination’s innovative creator and CEO Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman (executive producer, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Minions: The Rise of Gru). The screenplay was written by Ken Daurio, a seasoned writer of every Despicable Me movie, and Mike White, the Emmy-winning creator of White Lotus, and Patrick Delage, the animation director of Sing 2 and The Secret Life of Pets 2.
