Volkswagen Receives the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award 2024

Volkswagen was named the most innovative volume brand in the electric drive industry and was given the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Award 2024. The Center of Automotive Management (CAM) grants this esteemed prize each year. Volkswagen receives good marks from CAM for its broad and inventive performance in a variety of technological areas related to electric mobility. Highlights include optimized power consumption and charging capacity in addition to improved range. Furthermore, the Volkswagen brand exhibits a strong capacity for innovation in the field of the electric ecosystem, thereby augmenting customers’ convenience of charging. Positive ratings were also given to the ID.7, the Volkswagen brand’s first electric car in the higher mid-sized class.

Since 2005, the Center of Automotive Management, led by Professor Stefan Bratzel, has compiled product innovations from multinational automotive businesses and assessed them using both quantitative and qualitative standards. The annual AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Report, which is created utilizing the innovation database of the Center of Automotive Management, serves as the foundation for selecting the recipients of the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Awards.
For 2023–2024, CAM examined innovations from 30 international automakers as well as up-and-comers, encompassing almost 100 car brands. In all, 709 distinct OEM innovations in the domains of infotainment & connectivity, infotainment & ADAS, and electric drive that were available for series production were assessed. Among them are fewer than 200 highly regarded world firsts. Criteria like degree of innovation, consumer benefit, uniqueness, and maturity were part of the scientific examination. About 300 more pre-series innovations or concept cars also show the direction that automakers plan to take their development in the future.
