Volkswagen Integrates ChatGPT into its Lineup

Volkswagen made a major announcement at CES 2024, the world’s leading electronics fair. The Volkswagen brand will present its first vehicles which feature the artificial-intelligence-based chatbot ChatGPT. ChatGPT will be integrated into the vehicle’s IDA voice assistant. Future buyers will now have the opportunity to seamlessly access the constantly growing artificial intelligence database. Volkswagen models equipped with the IDA voice assistant can have researched content read out while driving.
The new functions of Cerence Chat Pro from the technology company Cerence Inc. offered its unique automotive ChatGPT integration. The Volkswagen brand has continued to reach above and beyond, and will now be the first volume manufacturer to offer ChatGPT as a standard feature on specific models after the second 2024 quarter. The new ChatGPT will be offered with the latest generation infotainment system, the models will include the 2024 ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3, 2024 Tiguan, 2024 Passat, and the 2024 Golf.

AI will provide additional information as it expands its capabilities continuously, this adds up to create an intuitive system used hands-free that can enrich conversations, clear up questions, receive vehicle-specific information, interact in many languages and more. Voice assistant is activated upon saying “Hello IDA ” or pressing a button on the steering wheel. ChatGPT will not gain any access to any vehicle data, questions and answers are deleted immediately to keep data protection a number one priority. Cerence Chat Pro facilitates with unlimited sources which includes ChatGPT, enabling Volkswagen’s IDA to provide the most accurate and lastest responses to nearly anything asked.
