Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport Gain Basecamp Accessory

Volkswagen of America, Inc has announced the Basecamp accessory line for the Atlas Cross Sport models. The Basecamp kit will be as a complete kit and also individually. The kit unleashes a sporty more rugged overland look using custom body-cladding elements. The Basecamp kit also includes unique off-road wheels that emphasizes the versatility of the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. The Basecamp kit was first released back in 2020 after being unveiled at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. 

“As consumers and dealers continue to seek SUVs with rugged appearance characteristics, we will continue to offer accessory options that allow them to further personalize their Volkswagen SUV,” said Petar Danilovic, Senior Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy at Volkswagen of America. “It made sense to expand the line to include Atlas Cross Sport alongside Atlas and the Taos Basecamp styling program.”

The Basecamp kit was developed by Air Design and includes a two-tone satin silver and textured black front valance, Matte black flares with splash guards, satin silver rear balance with trailer hitch access, and satin silver side door rocker panels. Buyers interested in the complete Atlas kit will enjoy exclusive front quarter-panel-mounted Basecamp badges that are only available in the complete kit and are not sold separately. The enhanced look the Basecamp kit offers turns the Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport into a one of a kind family SUV. 

The Atlas Basecamp kit has an MSRP of $2,650 and the Atlas Cross Sport has an MSRP of $2,774. Buyers looking to break down the kit and purchase individually. The MSRP for the individual parts goes as follows, the rear balance $680, front balance $680, fender flares $645, and the side door skid plates $769. The two accessory lines will use 17-inch Traverse MX wheels made by fifteen52 specifically designed for Volkswagen. The wheels are available in two colors including frosted graphite and radiant silver.
