The Vatican’s Vehicle Fleet is Electrified by Volkswagen

Volkswagen is showing its support for the Vatican City State by helping transition to sustainable mobility. Starting in 2024 Volkswagen will deliver 40 fully electric vehicles from its ID.Family. The models will range from the ID.3, ID. 4, and ID.5. The Vatican City State is committed to implementing new initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint. The “Ecological Conversion 2023” program is being discussed and mobility is in the center of attention. Moving towards sustainability solutions and by 2030 make entire fleets carbon neutral.
“The electrification of fleets is becoming increasingly important across the globe. The fact that Vatican employees will now also be among our ID. drivers in the future is a great target and honor for our brand and underscores the attractiveness of our all-electric ID. models,” said Imelda Labbé during the vehicle handover in Vatican City.
The Vatican City State had many options when moving into electric mobility, Volkswagen’s electric capability stood above the rest. The German automaker is taking the electric market by storm.
