2024 Volkswagen ID.4 Rolls into Dealerships with More Performance, Technology, and Power.

Volkswagen of America has unveiled upgrades to the 2024 ID.4, its flagship electric compact SUV. These upgrades focus on the 82 kWh battery and also a new high-performance powertrain, a state-of-the-art infotainment display, and improvements in comfort and performance. The model will continue to be assembled at Volkswagen’s factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and will offer three different trims including Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus. Buyers have the option of equipping the SUV with a 62 kWh or 82 kWh battery and the option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. 

The main improvements in the 2024 ID.4 equipped with the 82 kWh battery focus on a high-performance powertrain that offers more power and range compared to the previous model. The rear-wheel-drive model generates 282 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive model pumps out 330 horsepower. This increase in power improves acceleration and is expected to increase range as well. EPA-estimated ranges will be available at a later date closer to its debut. Volkswagen has also improved ID.4 models in terms of technology, an optional 12.9-inch infotainment display with backlit slider controls, a more intuitive climate control interface, and a revised infotainment menu can be added. In addition, the car features a new shifter position and an updated steering wheel design.

 The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 has been based on comfort and convenience, the S models add ventilated front-row seats, and S Plus models include a Harman/Kardon TM premium audio system with nine speakers, a subwoofer, and a 16-channel amplifier. On the exterior, the wheels have been upgraded, 2024 ID.4 Standard AWD models have 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, while S Plus vehicles have 21-inch machined alloy wheels. . The 2024 ID.4 models are eligible for the full federal tax credit of up to $7,500. According to fueleconomy.gov, Volkswagen is currently the only foreign manufacturer to offer a battery electric vehicle eligible for the full federal tax credit, thanks to its local assembly and sourcing.
